After changing exports from "squash=no_root" to "squash=all" connected Mac systems can no longer trash anything. What is the best way to resolve this?

This is a permission problem on the hidden folder .Trashes.  Contact tech support if you are uncomfortable with the CLI as these are dangerous commands below if not used properly.

Fix it with

chmod –R 777 .Trashes

or fix it by deleting the entire trash folder and the next Mac to trash something will recreate it – be careful with the “rf” command to ensure that only the correct files are deleted.

rm –rf .Trashes
