Serial-Attached SCSI - Modern equivalent of SCSI. SAS drives have a number of high-reliability features, such as dual-path for dual-controller RAIDs
SCSI
Small Computer System Interface - Standard method for connecting computers and devices for data transfer. Now only seen in legacy hardware and software.

Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology - A monitoring technology for the hardware assessment using built-in self-diagnosis hardware and a mechanism of forecasting disk failures. A special software performing SMART parameters monitoring and warning users in case of device pre-failure state

Server Message Block - Network application protocol for remote access to files, printers and other network resources, as well as for inter-process communication.
SMTP
Simple Mail Transfer Protocol - The standard protocol for mail transfer, with a default TCP port of 25
SNMP
Simple Network Management Protocol - an application-layer protocol that provides a message format for communication between SNMP managers and agents.
SONG
Scale-Out NAS Gateway - presents block-level SAN storage as file-based storage workflows to the LAN.
SRA
Snapshot Reserve Area - the space reserved exclusively for Snapshot copies
